Khloé Kardashian has remained by her estranged husband, Lamar Odom’s, side since he nearly overdosed back in October — and while she has been the driving force behind efforts to keep him sober, a new tell-all reveals that the 31-year-old once had her own scandal involving cocaine.
As fans of Kourtney and Khloé Take Miami may recall, the reality star came under fire after she brought drugs into the studio where she was recording her short-lived radio show.
In Ian Halperin’s new tell-all book — Kardashian Dynasty: The Controversial Rise of America’s Royal Family _, obtained exclusively by _In Touch — he writes about the troubling time in Koko’s life.
"In a scene shot during the first installment of Khloé's radio show, Khloé did a segment on the prevalence of drugs in Miami, noting that people thought she was a ‘coke whore.’ During the segment in which she interviewed a ‘drug expert,’ she revealed that one of her employees found coke in the changing room of the new store. She had stuck the drugs in her purse and she just happened to still have them on her. Taking the purported container out of her purse, she declared, ‘I have never done coke; I'm just not into that stuff. Look what I found at my store! It's like, coke; I don't know, but what do you do? Do you, like, snort it through here?’” Halperin writes.
“She then mimed snorting the coke, saying, ‘I'm so high! It's not mine, it's just cocaine, it's not mine!’ This prompted a producer to lecture her about the propriety of her actions, telling her it was ‘dumb’ and ‘stupid’ while reminding her that possessing cocaine is a felony. The radio show was suspended while Khloé was forced to undergo drug testing to prove she wasn't under the influence while on the air."
At the time, Khloé was on probation for her 2007 DUI arrest, and “coke in her purse could have sent her to jail, even though nobody ever actually saw the coke and it is hard to believe that Khloé would be stupid enough to carry coke around that wasn't hers and then pull it out live on the air,” Halperin writes, adding that neither Khloé nor her sister Kourtney ever called cops following the incident.
“Nothing happened to Khloé as a consequence of her actions,” the bestselling author explains. “But the show's ratings went through the roof, E! renewed it for a second season, and the Kardashians had chalked up another conquest in their never-ending drive for success."
