The only thing worse than being at the same event as your ex is being at the same event as your ex and their new partner. Unfortunately for Kaitlynn Carter, she knows the struggle all too well. 

On Wednesday, October 2, the Hills starlet, 31, was spotted at the Nights of the Jack Friends and Family VIP Preview Night in Calabasas, California. As it happens, so was Brody Jenner and his new girlfriend, Josie Canseco. In fact, it was the pair’s red carpet debut. 

Brody, 36, and Josie, 22, first sparked dating rumors in August, just nine days after his divorce from Kaitlynn was confirmed. While it’s unclear as to whether or not, the unlikely trio physically crossed paths, being under the same roof was surely uncomfortable enough — especially given how loved-up Brody and the Victoria’s Secret model were being.

“They skipped all interviews but were super adorable on the carpet together while posing for photos. They were always physically connected, whether it be holding hands, Brody wrapping his arm around Josie’s waist or her playfully leaning on him,” an onlooker told In Touch.

“They looked super in love and very into each other. During the event, they walked around holding hands while looking at different activations,” the event-goer continued. “They were laughing and very playful and were clearly not shy about showing PDA. They looked like a very strong couple.”

Kaitlynn, who is newly single after splitting from girlfriend Miley Cyrus, showed up with a group of friends. Thankfully, after a month-long whirlwind romance, the “Slide Away” singer, 26, and Kaitlynn ended things on good terms.

“Miley doesn’t burn bridges. They had a blast together and are going to remain friends,” a source exclusively revealed to In Touch following the breakup. “As far as I know nothing traumatic occurred. There was no huge blow up or a third party that got between them. Miley is busy doing stuff, and she’s got a lot on her plate. Their romance didn’t fizzle out, it just ran its course. That’s it.”
