We’re all for supporting friends, but this may not have been the right time, Justin Bieber. The pop star, 24, showed support for Chris Brown just hours after the “With You” singer, 29, was released from custody following a sexual assault accusation in Paris, France.

On January 22, the R&B star posted a video of himself dancing on Instagram. He captioned the snap, “We Working.” The Canada native couldn’t help but show love for Brown, writing, “No one can touch you. You’re the GOAT.” The two collaborated on their hit song “Next To You” in 2011.

Justin’s followers were upset with the Grammy nominee, and they let him know it. One user wrote, “@justinbieber shame on you. You REALLY let me down with that and I’m here for you since 2010!!! Always knew everything about [you], but only today I found out that you support abusers of women. So sad. Disgusting,” while another echoed, “@justinbieber supporting a racist and abusive man only shows the kind of person you are. Hailey, wake up and get the hell out of there.” A third person just wanted him to take down the comment, writing, “@justinbieber Justin, delete this, please.”

To recap, Brown was detained on Monday, January 21, following a sexual assault accusation. Since then, he was released from custody with no charges filed. A 24-year-old woman claimed Brown had  attacked her in a hotel room at the Le Mandarin Oriental on the night of January 15.

After the news dropped, Brown broke his silence via Instagram in a since-deleted post, in which he denied all the allegations made against him. “I WANNA MAKE IT PERFECTLY CLEAR … THIS IS FALSE AND A WHOLE LOT OF CAP!” he wrote. “NNNNNNNNEEEEEEEEEEVVVVVVVVVVEEEEEERRRRRR[sic]!!!!!! FOR MY DAUGHTER AND MY FAMILY THIS IS SO DISRESPECTFUL AND IS AGAINST MY CHARACTER AND MORALS!!!!!”

It’s not too late to say sorry, Justin.
