Oh boy! The Duggar family is used to being the center of controversy, and even though Joy-Anna Duggar is now Mrs. Forsyth, that doesn’t mean she’s immune to backlash on social media. The pregnant Counting On star took to Instagram to share an update on her pregnancy at roughly four months along. Watch the video below to see her growing baby bump!

Joy shared the baby bump photo in the first set of three pictures uploaded using Instagram’s carousel feature. But even though Joy was sharing such a sweet, seemingly innocent post with her fans, it’s the second and third photos in the gallery that caused some major backlash. The second photo was a pro-life meme and the third featured Joy’s husband Austin Forsyth standing on the side of a road holding a sign that read, “Abortion kills children.” Fans immediately sounded off in the comments.

“Honestly it seems pretty odd to me that you would celebrate your child while condemning what you see as murdering babies in the same post…but that’s just me,” one fan wrote. Most of the comments were from fans who either agreed or disagreed with Joy and Austin’s pro-life beliefs, but many fans agreed that pairing a message about abortion with her own pregnancy was strange. “Why are you posting this with a post about how happy y’all are about your baby?” one fans asked, and another wrote, “Why don’t [you] just enjoy your baby instead of turning it into a political statement.”

The Duggar family and their in-laws are never ones to back down about their controversial religious and political beliefs. Back in August, Joy’s brother-in-law Derick Dillard went on a transphobic rant against 16-year-old trans advocate Jazz Jennings — who is a fellow TLC reality TV personality, starring on her own show I Am Jazz.
