‘Counting On’ Star Josiah Duggar’s Wife Lauren Swanson Thanks Fans For Support Following Miscarriage
She’s so thankful. Counting On star Lauren Swanson took the time to offer gratitude to fans for their support following a miscarriage she experienced, and had nothing but beautiful things to say about them on Instagram. “I just want to thank each and every one of you for your prayers, support, and for all you Mama’s [sic] out there for sharing your angel baby stories,” she wrote on March 24. “It’s easy to share those happy times in our lives, but sharing something hard, like losing a baby, can be like putting salt to a wound.” So heartbreaking.
Lauren, 19, continued, “I know by y’all sharing your stories it has not only helped me but many other women who have gone through the same trials. ‘He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.’ Psalm 147:3 #enjoyingsundaytogether.” That’s such a lovely sentiment in the midst of what must still be a very tough time for Lauren and her husband, Josiah Duggar.
On February 11, Josiah, 22, and Lauren revealed that they suffered a miscarriage not long after they were married. “A couple months ago, we found out that we were expecting, but suddenly thereafter, we lost our baby,” Lauren revealed in the TLC clip. Josiah added, “It really was a hard time for our family going through this right after we got married. And all the dreams of getting to see our little one and hold it in our hands dashed before our eyes.”
“We really wanted to share our story because we know a lot of people go through a miscarriage but nobody really talks about it,” Lauren continued in the video. “And so we just wanted to let y’all know that you’re not alone.”
In the comments of the March 24 post, Lauren’s fans were deeply empathetic and very appreciative of her sharing in the midst of her sadness. “Love and hugs going out to you both,” one person wrote. Another replied, “I’m seriously so proud of you for sharing this with everyone. There is a terrible stigma around loss and that makes those who experience it feel even more lonely. You’re not alone at all. 💕” We really hope Lauren is doing well these days, and hope she finds some peace by sharing with and supporting others going through a similar experience.
