Josh Duggar has left rehab after spending six months at an in-patient counseling program.

The 28-year-old’s famous family confirmed that he completed treatment at the faith-based facility — where he has been treated for sex and pornography addiction since August — with a statement on their website.

Their statement read:

“Josh has completed his residential rehabilitation program. We are so thankful for everyone who worked with Josh in this program. It was a crucial first step in recovery and healing for Josh. Josh has now returned to Arkansas, where he will continue professional counseling and focus on rebuilding relationships with his family. We look to God for help and guidance and place all of our trust in Him. We are forever grateful for the love and prayers offered by so many and hope you will continue to pray in the days ahead.”

The father-of-four began a stint at Reformers Unanimous after he confessed to being unfaithful to his wife, Anna.

“I have been the biggest hypocrite ever. While espousing faith and family values, I have secretly, over the last several years, been viewing pornography on the Internet and this became a secret addiction and I became unfaithful to my wife,” he admitted.

“I am so ashamed of the double life that I have been living and am grieved for the hurt, pain and disgrace my sin has caused my wife and family, and, most of all, Jesus and all those who profess faith in Him.”

In the time since the scandal broke, his family — including his siblings and his wife — have largely stood by him.

“I definitely have forgiven Josh. It is a process, though, that you have to work through in your heart. And trust is not quickly rebuilt,” his sister Jessa recently said. “It is something that takes a while. We love him very much, though, and we are very hopeful for the future.”

While she’s remained loyally by his side throughout this ordeal, Anna has been candid about the strain the scandal put on their marriage, even calling 2015 “the most difficult year of [her] life.”

“Amazingly, I’ve found that in my own life crisis, God has drawn to me and my faith has been more precious to me than ever before,” she said earlier this year.

Josh’s release from rehab comes shortly after an insider told In Touch that Anna, 27, was anticipating his return and even hitting the gym in preparation — because she believes “he’ll be less likely to cheat” if she looks better.

“She lost a bunch of weight… [But] she still feels insecure,” the insider said. “She’s been going nonstop, not only exercising but getting their house ready for him, like he’s a hero returning from war. It’s really sad.”
