He’s telling his side of the story. Jon Gosselin appeared on the Monday, November 18, episode of The Dr. Oz Show and spoke of his relationship with his ex-wife, Kate Gosselin, and revealed he never had an affair, despite her alleged belief.

“She was traveling with her bodyguard, she was going on speaking tours,” Jon, 42, said of his former spouse. “I was home with the nanny and watching the kids and doing all of the kids stuff.” Dr. Oz then asked, “Does she think you were having an affair?” Jon replied, “Not with the nanny at that point. We had the same nanny for 3 years. She thought I was having an affair after … during separation in 2009, which I wasn’t. No.”

Just to be absolutely clear, the host asked again, “You were not having an affair?” And the former Jon and Kate Plus 8 star responded definitively, “No.” Dr. Oz replied, “Until you got divorced, did you have an affair with anyone?” and Jon said, “No. Nope.”

The father of eight has addressed cheating accusations previously. “The biggest misconception is the reason for the divorce is that I cheated on my wife, but I didn’t,” he said on a 2014 episode of Couples Therapy. He also said his marriage was “just kind of like 10 years of a business transaction.”

“We don’t have a relationship right now,” the former reality star said of he and his ex-wife during the Dr. Oz interview. “We don’t talk, nothing. The only time I see my ex-wife is in court.” He added, “Kate wanted a divorce, so she came to me. She didn’t want to be married anymore because I didn’t want to film anymore. I wasn’t part of the business model anymore.”

Jon also said that “fame and money” played a big part in how things ended between the former couple. “I think fame is worse than money. Fame’s different only because fame … things are given to you. You’re held to a higher standard. You’re put on a pedestal … the attention, it’s almost like a drug,” he said. “Like an addiction. And once you have that, and that lifestyle, you can see certain tendencies in people. It just … it feeds and feeds and feeds.”

It may not be a surprise to former fans that Jon and Kate don’t really talk or see each other anymore, but sadly, he doesn’t see the kids Kate has custody of, either. “Custody’s really up to the kids. And now I don’t have a gag so I can talk about it,” Jon exclusively told In Touch at Victoria’s Voice presented by the Victoria Siegel Foundation and Greenspoon Marder LLP at Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino. “So if Hannah wants to go, she goes. If Leah, is on Kate’s side, supposedly, if she wants to come, she comes … I can’t control that. And that’s the way it should be.”
