No one likes a tattletale! Jill Duggar posted a cute photo alongside John David Duggar and his new girlfriend Abbie Burnett on July 24, but it’s the caption that has people talking! Fans think Jill may have spilled the beans after catching the cute couple on a date without a chaperone present!

“Ran into these two last night!” wrote Jill alongside the picture where all three are smiling next to a Smoothie King. She didn’t mention or show anyone else, so fans began speculating that they were out alone. Which, of course, is against standard courtship rules.

Ran into these two last night! @johnandabbie

“Where’s their chaperones?” asked one fan. “These two as in only these two, or did they have a chaperone?” asked a second. Others thought maybe Jill was just being slick saying she “ran into” them. “Jill didn’t ‘accidentally’ run into them. She’s the freaking chaperone!!!! So corny!!!!!” said one salty follower. However, Jill has a husband and two kids of her own, and the older married kids aren’t usually tasked with babysitting their siblings.

Of course, there will always be fans that have the Duggars’ back! “Why can’t everyone just be happy for John David and Abbie?” said one fan. “For goodness sake, just leave them alone! Who cares if they are following the courtship rules or not?”

Some fans wanted to know if Jim Bob and Michelle’s courting rules even still apply to John because he’s a boy, and much older than the average courting age. The answer is unclear, but his brother Josiah also raised questions about this when he was seen seemingly alone on a date with his then-fiancee Lauren Swanson. Either way, John and Abbie look super happy and we can’t wait until they’re engaged!
