Hanging out with mom! Jennifer Garner spent some quality time with her oldest daughter, Violet, in Santa Monica on Thursday, August 15. The actress couldn’t stop smiling as she held hands with her kiddo in the California sun, and they were clearly having a great time with one another. The brunette beauty, 47, sported a blue sweater with red shorts along with sunglasses and white sneakers while Violet wore a white T-shirt with jean shorts and sandals. The duo looked like they shopped ’till they dropped since they carried their bags full of goodies down the street. We wonder what they bought!

The 13 Going on 30 star shares Violet, 13, as well as two more kids — daughter Seraphina, 10, and son Samuel, 7 — with her ex-husband Ben Affleck. Even though Jen is in the spotlight, she is very focused on keeping her kids grounded. “It’s really important for my kids to see that everyone doesn’t have the lives they see in Los Angeles,” she previously told Southern Living. “That doesn’t reflect the world.”

She added, “I want them to grow up with the Southern values I had — to look at people when they say hello and to stop and smell the roses. If I could do half as good a job as my mom did, I’d be pretty happy.”

These days, the mom of three has something to smile about: her new man, John Miller. “John is the complete opposite of Ben,” an insider told Us Weekly. “Jen feels like she’s finally found a true partner.” The couple is rarely spotted together, but it seems like it works for them. “She’d said she never thought she’d find love again,” a source close to Jennifer revealed to In Touch back in January 2019. “But now John has proven her wrong,” the insider added. “Jen is head-over-heels in love with him.”

“John and Jen are in similar places in their lives and can relate to raising kids after a divorce,” the insider added. “They’re on the same page and understand where things stand.”

It seems like the 41-year-old Cali Group CEO has even made an impact on Ben, 47. “Jen having a boyfriend has been the best thing to happen to Ben and Jen in a long time,” a second source told Us Weekly. The Triple Frontier actor has even “become a better parent” due to Jen’s new romance.

Jen and Ben tied the knot in 2005 but decided to split in 2018. In October 2018, the Texas native moved on with John, and since then they have been smitten with one another. Jen “admires John because he is just normal,” a source explained.

However, Ben has nothing but love for his former love. “She’s wonderful,” he said during an appearance on the Today show in March. “I’m lucky [my kids] got a great mom, and she helps out a great deal with making sure we coparent in as good a way as possible.”
