Jenna Dewan Responds to Claims She ‘Shaded’ Camila Cabello During AMAs: ‘No, I Love Her!’
She’s clearing the air. After some viewers accused Jenna Dewan of shading Camila Cabello at the American Music Awards, the dancer took to her Instagram Story to set the story straight. At the awards show, Camila, 22, and her boyfriend, Shawn Mendes, performed their hit track “Señorita,” and it looked like 38-year-old Jenna turned to the person next to her and said, “She’s always extra.” But she swears there are no negative vibes here.
“Hi, guys! Leaving the AMAs, getting a lot of text messages from people wondering if I was shading Camila,” the pregnant actress said in a video clip after the show. “NO! I love her, I love her so much. I’m such a big fan of hers. I don’t understand what that’s about. But no. I love her, love her.” She also noted that the track was her favorite song.
A lot of people reacted to the supposed shade over on Twitter on November 24. “Jenna Dewan really said ‘imma [sic] call Camila out on national television,'” one person wrote. Another tweeted, “Wait was Jenna talking s–t about Camila’s and Shawn’s performance? Hmmm.”
No matter what Jenna really said or meant during Camila’s performance, at least the singer and Shawn, 21, seemed to enjoy themselves at the award show. The couple was “all over each other” in their seats in the venue, an eyewitness exclusively told Life & Style. The insider revealed they were playing with each other’s hands, for starters, as well as giggling and kissing during the show. Camila was also spotted rubbing her boyfriend’s leg and whispering in his ear while he had his arm around her. That’s kind of sweet actually!
However, the duo opted not to walk the red carpet together for the event. They both walked it but decided to go solo during their appearances. To each their own, we guess.
Jenna also walked the red carpet alone in a beautiful pink gown that showed off her growing, pregnant belly. The actress and her boyfriend, Steve Kazee, are expecting their first child together, and she is seriously killing the game when it comes to maternity looks.
