Uh, It Looks Like Jenna Dewan May Have Shaded Camila Cabello During the 2019 AMAs and We’re Shook
Well, someone isn’t afraid to throw shade at these here AMAs! Jenna Dewan seemingly knocked Camila Cabello‘s performance with her boyfriend, Shawn Mendes, at the 2019 American Music Awards on November 24. During a camera pan during their hit track “Señorita,” it looks as though the 38-year-old pregnant babe turned to the person next to her and said, “She’s always extra.” Yikes!
After the show, the dancer took to her Instagram Stories to deny the possible shade. “Hi guys! Leaving the AMAs, getting a lot of text messages from people wondering if I was shading Camila,” the mama-to-be said in a video. “NO! I love her, I love her so much. I’m such a big fan of hers. I don’t understand what that’s about. But no. I love her, love her.” She even said the duet track was her favorite song.
Camila, 22, and Shawn, 21, definitely played up their connection on stage during their performance, so ~extra~ isn’t exactly the wrong word here. However, they’ve been really touchy-feely since the first time they were spotted together so we wouldn’t expect anything less — we’d like to think Jenna would agree.
But extra doesn’t even begin to cover what went down between the musical duo back in their seats after the cameras were off. An eyewitness told Life & Style they were “all over each other,” playing with each other’s hands and giggling and kissing during the show. Plus, the insider saw Camila rubbing her boyfriend’s leg and whispering in his ear as he had his arm around her. Pretty steamy stuff!
Weirdly enough, though, the couple decided against walking the red carpet together for this particular awards show. Considering how cozy they got after accepting their award for Best Collaboration at the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards back in August, it feels like a strange choice. But it definitely didn’t stop them from showing affection inside the venue, so there’s that.
Plus, the flirty twosome looked really impressive for the special event. Shawn rocked a really slick navy suit with green lapels — and even showed off his chest in a low cut shirt underneath. Drool-worthy! Camila stunned in a beautiful beige tulle princess gown with floral embellishments.
The musical pair ignited romance rumors initially back in early July, when they were spotted packing on the PDA in several cities while keeping quiet about the exact nature of their connection. In late August, Shawn labeled his ~fling~ with the former Fifth Harmony babe as a “relationship” for the first time … and they haven’t been able to keep their hands off each other since. So, yeah, it’s extra, Jenna — but it’s so them.
