Glitz, Glam and Music! Celebrities Slayed the 2019 American Music Awards Red Carpet

Came to slay! Celebrities brought out their best looks for the 2019 American Music Awards on November 24 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. The glitzy award show, hosted by Ciara, brought together the brightest performers in the music industry to celebrate the best artists and music of the year. The AMAs, which was chock-full of singers, rappers and performers, promised to have some fun and quirky fashion moments on the red carpet — and it did not disappoint.

There are some big names on the nominee list. Drake, Ariana Grande, Halsey, Post Malone and Taylor Swift are all up for Artist of the Year. As for New Artist of the Year, Luke Combs, Lizzo, Lil Nas X, Billie Eilish and Ella Mai are keeping their fingers crossed to take home the win. The American Music Awards recognizes many other artists in country, EDM, Latin and more.

One big moment fans are looking forward to in the show is the “You Need to Calm Down” singer being presented with Artist of the Decade. This is a huge honor for Taylor, but it came with a little drama. On November 14, the “Lover” songstress called Scott Borchetta and Scooter Braun because of legal disputes over her being able to play her older music during the awards show and in a documentary she’s been secretly working on. “Right now, my performance at the AMAs, the Netflix documentary and any other recorded events I am planning to play until November of 2020 are a question mark,” she wrote in a lengthy statement, which she posted across all her social media channels.

After mentioning that some of Scooter’s other clients care about the treatment of other artists, Taylor added, “I’m hoping that maybe they can talk some sense into the men who are exercising tyrannical control over someone who just wants to play the music she wrote.”

Big Machine responded to these claims on their website on November 15. “Taylor, the narrative you have created does not exist. All we ask is to have a direct and honest conversation,” the music label wrote. “When that happens, you will see there is nothing but respect, kindness and support waiting for you on the other side.”

Drama or not, celebrities served up some serious looks on the red carpet. Keep scrolling to see the show-stopping outfits!
