Sometimes, mom really does know best… Following this week’s episode of Teen Mom 2, Jenelle Evans has taken to Twitter to let her fans know that it was her decision to put her oldest son, Jace, in therapy — and give them an update on what’s going on with her mother, Barbara.

“It was my idea to get him into therapy and then all of a sudden my mom signed him up. We have one-on-one sessions without my mom,” she tweeted. “We are going to [do sessions together] but the therapist wants to work solely on the mother-and-son relationship. Slowly but surely [we’re] going to fix this.”

She continued by telling fans that Jace is also doing sessions with her fiancé, David Eason, and explained that she is lucky to have found a therapist who is solely Jace’s advocate, rather than someone who is picking sides in Jenelle’s ongoing feud with her own mother. She explained. “[The therapist and I] had our own session before starting the sessions with Jace. She was surprised by a lot of what she didn’t know behind closed doors. She even read my book before I went in there, so she really understands my childhood very well and how I was raised.”

During her Twitter tell-all, the mother-of-three also revealed that she will no longer be talking about her Jace publicly, as she and his doctor both agreed it was in his best interest. “If you guys don’t hear me talk about Jace too much anymore and his feelings it’s because his therapist and I decided to not talk publicly about Jace on-cameram, off-camera, on social media, etc.” the 25-year-old explained. “He’s older now and has his own will and voice. He’s not a baby. Hopefully the other party can follow the same rules. Just posting so everyone doesn’t think that I don’t care. Sorry! Only pics of Jace from now on.”

Jenelle and her mother have had an infamously rocky relationship since her childhood, which she detailed in her debut memoir, Read Between the Lines: From the Diary of a Teenage Mom. Things between the two only got worse when Jace was born, and when he was still an infant, Barbara gained custody of the tiny reality star — and the two have been embroiled in a bitter custody battle ever since.
