In a new interview, Jenelle Evans talked about her painful past with drug addiction.
The Teen Mom 2 star revealed to E! News on Tuesday, “I think my low point was with my drug issue and the whole heroin thing," she said. "I almost overdosed and died. I was trying to run away from my problems."
Jenelle's drug abuse has been documented on MTV and now in her new book, Read Between the Lines: From the Diary of a Teenage Mom. Yet the reality star admitted there was a turning point.
"When I started withdrawing for the first time in my life, I was like, ‘This is not the way I want to live,'” she said. “This is scaring the s–t out of me, and I need to get help right now.”
The mother-of-three checked into a New Jersey hospital, and now she's in a much better place.
With the help of her fiancé, David Eason, she's been spending more time with her children and even moved into a brand new house.
"I have also loooved finding antique furnishings for our home and you guys seem to really be liking some of my decorations so I just want to say thank you," she gushed on her blog last month. "This is my first time decorating and arranging a home my way, so to see the positive comments has been amazing."
The happy couple also announced their wedding date! In an Instagram post, the soon-to-be bride said, "I'm ready to make my life forever with you."
However, despite her now seemingly fairytale life, she's still having issues with her mom, Barbara.
In the same interview, she said, "We are in the same situation. You know we went to court about Jace and I got a visitation schedule set, but she’s still kind of bent out of shape because I still have resentment towards her for still keeping my son and we still butt heads."
While Jenelle and her mom continue to work on their relationship, we're thrilled to hear she's happier and healthier than ever!
Teen Mom 2 returns to MTV on Monday, July 17.
