Jana Duggar Goes Wedding Dress Shopping, Fans Lose Their Minds (Obv)
Oh poor Jana Duggar. As most fans of the Duggars already know, the 27-year-old is pretty much considered an old maid now that she’s 27 and unmarried — despite three of her younger sisters beating her to tie the knot. The old stereotype of “always a bridesmaid, never a bride” has never rung truer than when she was spotted going wedding dress shopping with her future sister-in-law Kendra Caldwell.
It’s been speculated that Kendra — who is engaged to Jana’s brother Joseph — is getting married in October, on a wedding date previously believed to be Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth. In any case, the future Mrs. Duggar is moving along with her wedding planning — and somehow Jana has gotten stuck being dragged along for the whole thing.
In the past, Jana has been open about how it’s not easy to be not only the oldest sister, but also the only single sister (besides the little ones, of course). “I know how it feels to wait for ‘Prince Charming’ to come along. I’m still waiting,” she told Crown of Beauty earlier this year. “Waiting is not always easy. Especially in those times when all the married siblings are getting together and you can’t go because you’re not part of ‘that’ group.”
She continued, “Waiting doesn’t mean sitting and literally waiting. No, we need to be busy with where God has us and being content and joyfully serving Jesus there. My parents have always encouraged each of us to serve those around us… I’ve found that when I’m having a hard or discouraging day, I try to look for ways to bless or serve someone else. And in turn it usually blesses and encourages me!”
It was previously speculated that Jana “prefers the company of women” over men — though the Duggars, who are against same-sex marriage, have never commented on that. Looks like only time will tell with this one…
