Mama June Slams Fat Suit Rumors on ‘From Not to Hot’: “I’m Just Fat”
Is Mama June wearing a fat suit?
The star of WEtv’s new show Mama June: From Not to Hot angered fans after she appeared to be wearing prosthetics during the series premiere in order to exaggerate her weight loss after undergoing gastric sleeve surgery. But the former Here Comes Honey Boo Boo star opened up in an interview and she set the record straight about her weight loss journey.
“Definitely did not wear a fat suit — I was fat,” the 37-year-old told celebrity publicist Domenick Nati on his iHeartRadio show. “People got to realize that this journey has been going on since May of last year, my last surgery was at the end of December.”

Mama June — real name June Shannon — revealed on the season premiere of her new show that the reason why she decided to begin her weight loss transformation is because her ex-boyfriend Mike “Sugar Bear” Thompson announced that he was getting married to another woman.

But even though she started her journey to get revenge on her cheating ex, she is glad that she decided to make the change and adopt a healthier lifestyle. On this week’s series, she revealed that she is a size 12 and her transformation will take her all the way down to a size 4 — and she revealed that she’s happy with the size she’s at now.
“I never had an ideal weight in mind,” she said. “I pretty much maintained where [I’m at] now for a couple of months so I’m pretty much happy where I’m at now.”
