Friends again! Katy Perry revealed how she reconciled with Taylor Swift during an interview with KIIS 1065’s The Kyle and Jackie O Show on Tuesday, July 16.

“It kind of was a process,” the 34-year-old told the host about how she and the blonde beauty, 29, patched up their friendship. “I sent her a literal olive branch and a note apologizing for my part in all of when she started her Reputation tour. I just thought she was about to embark on something new and big and needed the support and truly, as I was finishing mine, I realized how much we have in common, and maybe there are only five other people in the world that have the same type of conversations and understand where we are coming from and that we should celebrate our commonality and our friendship and be able to be there for each other.”

So, how exactly did the two start speaking again? “After that, there was some time in between, but I started seeing her around at the Oscar parties,” the “Never Really Over” songstress said. “[Taylor] was accompanying her boyfriend, and I just went up to her and I was like, ‘Hey, it’s been a long time. I think we have grown up a little bit. I just want to say I am sorry, and I am here for you and that I love you and you know, I hope we can be friends in the future.’”

Katy and Taylor’s feud reportedly began in 2013 after they fought over backup dancers. “She … tried to sabotage an entire arena tour,” Taylor said at the time, referring to the American Idol judge. In 2014, the Grammy winner revealed that her track “Bad Blood” was about someone in the music industry. “For years, I was never sure if we were friends or not,” she told Rolling Stone magazine at the time. “She would come up to me at awards shows and say something and walk away, and I would think, ‘Are we friends, or did she just give me the hardest insult of my life?’”

But the “Delicate” crooner was able to move on from the past and even wanted Katy to star in her new music video for “You Need to Calm Down.” The brunette bombshell recalled, “We started talking a little bit and trusting each other because it’s about trusting, and she got my number, and we started texting, and she had this really cool idea, and I said, ‘Let’s talk about it.’ She invited me over to her house, and she made me those cookies, and she actually makes those cookies, and they are actually so delicious. I brought them home.”

One of the radio hosts asked what would have happened if Taylor didn’t want to speak to her ever again. “I am glad that it didn’t because I think that both her and I, you know, we have influenced young people and especially young girls who are in this type of situation day in and day out,” Katy said.

However, the California native had one only demand before she called a truce. “I said the only way I am coming to your house is if I can hold you new cat,” she said, referring to Tay’s new kitten named Benjamin Button. Now, it seems like these two are on great terms. “I can trust her, and she can trust me, and we will see each other in the halls of the music industry and not avoid each other, and we will embrace,” Katy said. “It’s amazing that we have this opportunity to change, and I just hope that other people can learn from it too.”
