Ice Ice Baby! Hilary Duff Shows Off Her 8-Month-Old Daughter’s New Earrings Amid Social Media Backlash
Who says you can’t be glam as a tot? Hilary Duff most definitely agrees after piercing her 8-month-old daughter Banks’ ears. Look at those itty bitty rocks!
The former teen star, 31, posted to her Instagram Story on Tuesday, July 2, to show off her daughter’s new studs, and of course her top knot.
“She has enough hair for a pony! …Oh and yes we pierced her ears,” the Younger star wrote.
Although, not everyone is #hearteyes over the bedazzled babe. The former Lizzie McGuire star is receiving major backlash in the comments after posting a photo on Sunday, June 30, debuting Banks’ new bling.
“I can’t believe someone who seemed so screwed on pierced her babies ears. Causing unnecessary pain that isn’t for medical reasons done by a fully qualified medical professional is child abuse in my eyes. The risks are unreal and that throbbing pain in her ears no matter how happy and looked after your child is just isn’t justified,” wrote one commenter.
Others just simply vowed to unfollow the new mom. Luckily, some fans had rave reviews over the tot’s new vibe and supported Hilary’s decision.
One user wrote, “So babies go to the doctor and get multiple shots and a piercing is abuse now ? Ppl need to mind their business. Don’t even know what to consider an issue anymore 🙄.”
The “So Yesterday” singer and fiancé Matthew Koma welcomed baby Banks back in October 2018. The happy couple announced their engagement this past May, and spoke to Us Weekly about how thrilled they are to be parents. “I think having a baby definitely brought us even closer together,” She said. “And we feel happier and more in love than ever.”
Hilary is also the mom to 7-year-old son, Luca, whom she shares with her ex-husband, Mike Comrie.
The foursome looks like the ultimate family unit. #goals.
“We are looking forward to our long future together … [He’s] my favorite person in the entire world outside of my kids. He knows he comes third.”
