WYD, Dwayne Johnson?! The host of the 2019 Oscars this year will be … nobody. But prior to the announcement, Kevin Hart was set to narrate Hollywood’s biggest night. Now, “The Rock“, 46, is seemingly shading the comedian, 39, who was given the ax after homophobic tweets from his past resurfaced online.

“Ah mahalo dude, I was their first choice to host this year, and my goal was to make it the most fun and entertaining Oscars ever,” he responded to a fellow user, who suggested he should host. “We all tried hard but couldn’t make it work since I’m shooting Jumanji. Academy and I were super bummed but maybe one day down the road.”

Needless to say, it didn’t take long for people to sense some serious shade-throwing. “‘First choice’ more shots fired at !” one person tweeted. Another added, “I can’t decide if this is true or another shot at being #2.” A third chimed in, “If you tell me we would’ve been treated to a Rock Concert had you hosted, I’m gonna cry,” to which Dwayne responded, “Brother Jimmy, I think you know the kind of fun I was gonna have (and make the audience have). .”

Hmm, ICYMI, the two have roasted each other on social media for years. Of course, it’s all in the name of fun! Prior to his latest post, The Rock celebrated the newest addition to his family, Tiana Gia Johnson. A short time later, he shared another touching post-labor photo of him cradling a newborn. One that looked pretty darn similar to the picture of him cradling Tiana.

Kevin found the pic so funny, he shared it on his own Instagram page. A few months earlier, the Night School actor — who also stars in Jumanji — posted a photo of a girl wearing a shirt that read, “You are my rock, my Dwayne, my Johnson.” In the caption, he wrote, “This shirt pissed me off….After she interviewed us I spilled cranberry juice on her shirt and acted like it was a accident [sic] but it wasn’t #EVIL😂😂😂😂 #JumanjiPromoTour….Always a good time with this bald jacka—…..P.S @therock looks like a stronger version of “Lavar Ball” 😂😂😂😂😂 #F—kThatShirt.”

LOL. Their bromance is alive and well, folks. Keep the roasts coming!
