Is it weird to marry someone who looks like your sibling? Counting On fans apparently think so! People took to reddit to point out that the Duggars marry people who look just like them, and now we can’t unsee it.

“Has anyone else noticed the Duggars marry people who could be their twin?” one user wrote, along with a photo collage of Josh and Anna Duggar, Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard, Ben Seewald and Jessa Duggar, and Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo. Another user agreed, writing, “I know dozens and dozens of couples who look like twins or siblings.”

Even though Austin Forsyth and Joy-Anna Duggar weren’t in the original lineup, fans brought up their similarities as well. “Josh and Anna look absolutely nothing alike. I would have put Joy/Austin in the lineup instead," one person wrote.

One user posed the theory that the Duggars practice “assortative mating,” where "folks tend to go for people [who] look similarly to them as a way to ensure that their traits will be passed down.” The user continued, “Like for instance, with almost every Duggar birth, netizens talk about how they can see little touches of Jim Bob’s X or Michelle’s Y in their grandkids, when in reality the features from their in-laws aren’t all that different (with the exception of the Forsyth nostrils lol).”

But in addition to how the couples look, fans think it's a little strange that there are also a lot of similarities in the spellings of their names! “What about how Jill has a lot of ‘L’s in her name and Jessa has a lot of ‘S’?” one user asked. “Jill, Michelle, Dillard, and Jessa Seewald.”

Is this actually bizarre, or just a giant coincidence? All we know is that if Jana ends up courting a nice man named “Janus,” we’ll have a lot of questions.
