Drake Shares Rare Photo From Son Adonis’ Second Birthday Party: ‘Happy Birthday King’
Rare dad moment! Drake took to Instagram on Friday, October 11, to share a rare glimpse into his life as a father. The rapper shared a photo of son Adonis’ birthday party decorations for his second birthday party, and of course, the bash was fit for a “king.”
“Happy Birthday King 💙,” the 32-year-old wrote in the caption. In the picture, a hallway was decorated in gold balloons with gold letter balloons spelling out “Adonis” adorned the archway. On the left stood a little statue of the Sesame Street character, Cookie Monster.
Drake is very protective and private about his relationship with his son, and he didn’t confirm that he was a father until 2018 — one year after rumors started swirling, claiming the “In My Feelings” rapper fathered a child with former French adult film star Sophie Brussaux.
Back in May 2018, rapper Pusha T exposed details about Drake and Sophie’s relationship in his diss track, “Story of Adidon,” in the midst of a feud with Drake. “Sophie knows better as your baby mother / Cleaned her up for IG, but the stench is on her / A baby’s involved, it’s deeper than rap / We talkin’ character, let me keep with the facts / You are hiding a child, let that boy come home / Deadbeat mothaf–ka playin’ border patrol, ooh / Adonis is your son / And he deserves more than an Adidas press run; that’s real / Love that baby, respect that girl / Forget she’s a pornstar, let her be your world,” Pusha rapped in his verse.
After that, Drake confirmed he is a father to a baby boy named Adonis on multiple songs on his double album, Scorpion, which was released in June 2018. On the track “Emotionless,” Drake rapped: “I wasn’t hiding my kid from the world / I was hiding the world from my kid.”
Since then, Drake has shared photos of Adonis’ artwork on the ‘gram but still has yet to share a photo of his baby boy. But in October 2018, during an episode of LeBron James‘ HBO talk show The Shop, Drake opened up about his “beautiful” son. “[He has] crazy blue eyes — baby blue eyes,” Drake said, then added, “He’s already in the pool shooting the basketball.”
