Kim Kardashian Seemingly Gets Her Diamond Engagement Ring Back 2 Years After Paris Robbery
On Dec. 24, Kim Kardashian dazzled at her family’s annual Christmas Eve. While there’s no doubt that her stunning white gown fit like a glove, it was one of the KUWTK star’s accessories that really got people talking.
Kim appeared to be wearing the very same $4 million diamond engagement ring that was stolen from her during the Paris robbery on Oct. 3, 2016. According to Radar Online, the 38-year-old’s bling isn’t technically the same item that was burglarized, but it’s certainly as close as can be.
“Kim did get a lot of diamonds back when they caught the robbers, but the ring itself was broken down, so she was forced to recreate it,” a source revealed to the outlet. As it happens, however, the mother-of-three wasn’t too keen on making her replica known to the public.
“Kim had a replica ring made of the one she had robbed because she just loved it so much,” the source noted. “Although she didn’t want her fans to know, it was obvious because she was wearing a diamond half the size of her hand.”
Perhaps Kim feared that she would be called a hypocrite. After all, she has gone on record many times following the robbery claiming that she’s no longer fixated on being materialistic.
“It was probably no secret, you see it on the show, me being flashy, but I was definitely materialistic before,” she told Ellen DeGeneres in 2017. “I’m so happy that my kids get this me — and that is who is raising my kids — because I just don’t care about that stuff anymore, I really don’t.”
Hmmm, well, rocking a $4 million dollar piece of jewelry certainly doesn’t make her a bad person, but it does make her materialistic, at the very least! Either way, Kim looked flawless and if her replica ring makes her happy, we’re all for it.
