Welp. We’re only two days into the new year, and Derick Dillard is already receiving backlash. The former Counting On star — who was fired from the hit show for his unwarranted comments on Jazz Jennings — took to Instagram on Tuesday, Jan. 1, to, well, ruffle a few feathers.

“The Key to Keeping Your 2019 Resolutions: ‘Some of you may not know this, but 7 years ago I weighed nearly 400 pounds…'” he captioned a Dillard Family Blog post.

Of course, the lanky 29-year-old has never weighed 400 pounds and used the fake anecdote as a way to get people to read his advice. Needless to say, people were less than thrilled.

“DO NOT CLICK ON THIS FOLKS, it’s a fake ad to get you to visit their website, lies lies lies!” one person fumed. “They are scum and just want clicks for money for themselves, even if that means outright LYING.” Another added, “Oh, I just read the whole thing. Shame on you for pretending to have a significant weight problem as clickbait for your blog. You used a lie to get money. I don’t think that’s very Christ-like.”

ICYMI, the father of two used to beg for money after getting the boot from TLC. “I am currently serving through a program at my home church, called the Cross Church School of Ministry!” Derick wrote on GoFundMe in November 2017. “I am so excited about this incredible opportunity for further ministry development, and I would like to invite you to share in this excitement with me. I started a fundraiser on GoFundMe to raise the funding I need for various missions opportunities I will have throughout the year. I have a donations goal of $10,000. This will enable me to fulfill my specific calling to ministry this year, including trips for Gospel-advancement and humanitarian work in Northwest Arkansas, North America, and abroad.”

Naturally, people were pretty pissed about that, too. “Wow truly low to be begging for money right when TLC fires you! Serves you right you bully,” one angry fan wrote on Twitter, while another chimed in, “I think you’re a scam artist, and the only reason you’re asking for money is because you got fired for making fun of a teenage girl!”

Sorry (not sorry), Derick, but it sounds like your 2019 is off to a rocky start!
