So heartbreaking. Fans weren’t the only ones who noticed there was something missing from Kate Gosselin‘s family photo — which was taken on Halloween 2017. Her ex-husband Jon Gosselin also noticed that their son Collin was missing out on the fun family holiday after the proud mama-of-eight shared a picture of her 13-year-old sextuplets trick-or-treating — and fans couldn’t help but slam the 42-year-old reality TV mama. See the shot for yourself in the video below!

Jon had a more emotional reaction when he saw the photo. “When he saw that Kate left Collin out of Halloween, that his son was missing yet another family celebration Jon broke down and cried,” a source revealed to Hollywood Life. “He hates that she’s doing this to Collin and feels so helpless to stop her.”

“The way Kate is handling things with Collin breaks Jon’s heart but he has no say. She controls everything, it’s her way or the highway when it comes to the kids, including Collin,” the insider continued. “He’s praying that the judge will side with him at their next custody hearing.”

Collin has rarely been seen since Kate revealed that he was at a special school getting individualized attention for his “special needs.” “Collin has special needs,” she said when he was first sent to his private facility in August 2016. “[There’s] a fairly fluid diagnosis of what those needs are, but he needs to learn certain strategies to help him deal with things. This has been a struggle we’ve had for a very long time, and it’s one I’ve dealt with on my own. I’ve felt very alone in this. By the same token, it’s not something that has only impacted me or him — our entire family has been impacted.”

Though she’s made it clear that Collin’s progress and privacy are of utmost importance, Kate has shared several updates with her fans since the initial announcement. Last November, she said, “He’s chugging along. It’s a family experience that we are dealing the best we can with. Everyone’s got their stuff. Another bump in the road and we’re all doing the best that we can with it.”

We’re so glad he’s doing well. Hopefully, he’ll be back with his brothers and sisters by next Halloween!
