There’s never a right time to say goodbye to your beloved pet… unless that pet is illegal! According to Us Weekly, Chris Brown is facing two misdemeanor counts of possession of a restricted species without a permit over his pet Capuchin monkey, Fiji.

Chris posted a now-deleted video of his daughter, Royalty, 4, whom he shares with Nia Amey, cuddling with the tiny animal in December 2017. “Royal, is this your baby?” he asks her in the Instagram clip. “She’s gonna be bigger than you, man. Y’all got the same size head.”

Now, court docs obtained by the mag reveal the California Department of Fish and Wildlife launched an investigation over little Fiji’s presence in Chris’ LA home between October 2017 and January 2018.

According to a new report, the “Kiss Kiss” singer voluntarily agreed to surrender the pet prior to a raid at his home. Chris is set to be arraigned on Feb 6. If found guilty, he could face up to six months in jail and a $1,000 fine.

Yet this isn’t the first time Chris has found himself in trouble with the law. According to Us, he was last arrested on July 5 in West Palm Beach, FL, over an out-of-county warrant from 2017 for allegedly punched a photographer during a club appearance. He was released on a $2,000 bail and pled not guilty in July.

In February 2009, he was arrested on charges of physical assault against then-girlfriend Rihanna, whom he still tries to contact. Though he pled guilty and was sentenced to five years probation, Chris continues to hit up his ex. Just last month, he let his thoughts be known by leaving a “flushed” emoji in the comments on one of her sexy pics.
