Bye Felicia! Charlamagne Tha God can breathe easy now that his good friend Wendy Williams is finally out of her toxic relationship with estranged husband Kevin Hunter.

On Wednesday, July 24, the personality, 41, talked to Us Weekly at the Revolt Summit x AT&T New York kickoff event about what his good friend is going through. “I’ve got love for Wendy. I like what she is doing. I’m happy that she finally got rid of that terrible husband of hers.”

The two pals go way back, and used to cohost a Philadelphia-based radio show together from October to December 2016. The Breakfast Club host disclosed that he and Wendy shared a “three-or-four-hour” phone call amid her messy split. “It was really good to catch up,” he said. Charlamagne hopes the talk show host finds “somebody who just makes her happy.”

“That is what we all deserve at the end of the day. We all need to be with somebody that makes us happy,” he continued. “It’s just like waking up every day, going to a job. Like, you don’t want to go to no job that you hate, right? That’s how it should be with your significant other — somebody that makes you happy. That’s it.”

Wendy filed for divorce from Kevin, 47, back in April 2019. The two were together for 21 years and share 18-year-old son, Kevin Hunter Jr. The diva later told TMZ that Kevin had a mistress for 15 years and even fathered a child with the woman.

As for Wendy, Charlamagne is excited to see what she does next now that she is free from an unhealthy marriage. “I don’t know what truly happy Wendy is capable of, ‘cause I’ve seen truly miserable Wendy accomplish some really great things,” he explained. “So I don’t know what truly happy Wendy is capable of. I think skies the limit for truly happy Wendy.”
