Carmela Mendez joined on for Season 6 after her wedding to original cast member Jeremiah Raber last spring. Even though fans got to watch her say “I do” during last season, the brunette beauty is still a mystery to most viewers.

She met Jeremiah on social media.

The couple met on Facebook and they messaged each other for three months before they decided to meet in person.

She is Jeremiah’s second wife.

The 33-year-old was previously married to ex-wife Naomi Stutzman for about six years and she is the mother of his three children. Although the reasons for their 2011 divorce is unclear, Jeremiah had been convicted of domestic abuse against her in the past and Naomi lived in a domestic violence safe house after their split.

How old is Carmela?

She is currently 34 years old.

Carmela may have also been married.

There isn't much information available about her first marriage, but she does have four children from a previous relationship.

The couple has a history of domestic abuse.

Just last month, Jeremiah was arrested in Live Oak, FL— where the couple now lives — after he got into a verbal dispute with Carmela, Radar Online reported. She told police that Jeremiah made “several threats to cause [her] harm,” and she also had several large bruises on her legs and arms and she claimed they were caused by Jeremiah “striking her with a closed fist.”

What is the cult that Carmela was in?

Though it is unclear what kind of cult she was in, she did reveal that they followed the teachings of American Christian minister William M. Branham — whose teachings warned of the “end of times.”
