Can Cardi B Speak at Our Commencement Ceremony? Her Impromptu AMA Acceptance Speech Was the Best Ever
She’s our fave for a reason. Cardi B accepted her American Music Award for Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Artist from home with a decorative pineapple and her hair in a towel, and TBH, we have never loved the rapper more. Although the 27-year-old couldn’t attend the award show on Sunday, November 24, she made it up to us with her hilarious impromptu speech.
“What’s poppin’ everybody it’s your girl Cardi B. I tried to get a little cute for y’all, you know, I put on my little Aldo earrings on and s—t. So we are going to pretend that this is an AMA award,” Cardi said in an Instagram video as she grabbed her home décor in place of her glass trophy. The star was wearing a robe, hanging earrings and sunglasses. Seems like a perfect red carpet look to us!
“I want to say thank you to everyone for voting for me for this AMA award. I’m so grateful that I won this AMA award. A couple of days ago I know I won a Soul Train award and I’m very thankful for that. I’m sorry to my fans that I’ve really been off the scene. I’ve been busy every f—king night every mother f—king day in the studio. I haven’t been able to mother f—king, you know, put a nice wig on, wax my mustache, even do my nails, my mother f—king eyebrows and stuff done. So, you know, I’ve been a little off the scene and everything because I’ve just been a little off just focusing so I can deliver some good old music for y’all in 2020. And like I said, thank you so much.”
After Cardi was done oversharing and thanking her fans, she gave us a few words of advice. “And just remember, brush your teeth, brush your tongue, eat carrots for your mother f—king vision, don’t be lazy, put lotion and baby oil on right after you get out of the shower and I love you! Bye!” Before signing off, she gave us one of her signature pursed-lip facial expressions. Thanks for showing us, yet again, why you’re our queen.
