She’s speaking out. Caitlyn Jenner has signed up to appear on a British reality TV show to “gain respect” from the Kardashians, the family’s former nanny Pam Behan speculated while chatting with In Touch exclusively. Pam’s statement comes after it was announced the Olympian was going to be featured on the series I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here.

“I would say this is a move to gain the Kardashian girls’ and ex Kris Jenner’s respect,” Pam, 51, said while catching up with In Touch on Friday, November 15. “The whole time I knew Bruce it seemed like none of them respected him that much.”

The former nanny worked closely alongside the family in the nineties and she said that Kris, 64, often made the decisions when they were still together. “They loved him, but he didn’t have too much of a say,” she continued, noting how the transition was a pivotal time in the star athlete’s life.

“I think Caitlyn finally feels she has a say,” Pam tells In Touch. “There might be a little bit of her trying to beat them at their own game too. She is a super nice wonderful person but she is very competitive. But I just think she’s been quiet for so long and wants to tell the world what’s been going on all this time,” the author continued.

The I Am Cait star, 70, will reportedly earn a hefty sum for her appearance on the show, an estimated $670,000. Pam thinks the E! alum is tired of the constant scrutiny in America, so perhaps that’s why she agreed to appear on the popular series. “If Caitlyn had been asked to do a show like that in the United States, I don’t see her accepting that,” she said.

Pam, who is opening up about her experience with the brood in her new memoir, Malibu Nanny, also revealed that she thinks Caitlyn has what it takes to walk away victorious.

“If you spend five minutes with Caitlyn you realize this is somebody who accomplishes what she sets out to do,” she tells In Touch. “Her transition shows that — this is something she planned all her life and she was determined to make it happen.”

Luckily, it looks like Kris and Caitlyn are on great terms these days. When the momager celebrated turning 64 on November 5, Caitlyn wrote, “Happy birthday to this special woman! What an amazing mother and business woman you are. Love you!”
