Not so fast! Miranda Lambert should have been having a great night. After being named Female Vocalist of the Year (for the seventh time!) at the Country Music Association Awards in Nashville on Nov. 8, she pursed her lips and accepted a peck on the cheek from her boyfriend, rhythm and blues singer and guitarist Anderson East, before heading to the stage to deliver her acceptance speech — in which she didn’t mention him once. In that moment and during the rest of the evening, “she and Anderson seemed awkward,” an observer exclusively told In Touch. “They just don’t seem in sync.”

They’re not. Miranda is wary of rushing into a second marriage. The scars from her 2015 divorce from Blake Shelton still haven’t healed, says the insider, “and Miranda’s not sure they ever will. She’s dedicated to Anderson but wants to be absolutely sure before they start wedding planning.”

In Touch previously reported that Miranda, 34, and Anderson, 29, had been making plans to elope this winter, then celebrate later with a down-home “Countrypalooza”-style party with their musician pals next year. “At one point, Miranda was even discussing wedding dresses and menu options,” an insider tells In Touch. But because of their exhausting schedules, they’ve now tabled their plans indefinitely, says the insider: “The wedding is off.”

They’re hoping to rekindle the flame over the holiday season. “Miranda and Anderson will be with each other in Nashville, Texas, and his home state of Alabama, and they’ll take time to reassess,” adds the insider. “They want to do some of their favorite things together — drink wine and cook, go hunting and fishing, ride horses and write some songs.” They’re intent on slowing things down and just enjoying each other’s company right now. “A wedding,” says the insider, “is a discussion they’re saving for a later date.”
