Ben Affleck just started seeing Katie Cherry — but don’t expect their connection to go very far. “Of course, Ben’s fling Katie is using the relationship for fame,” an insider told In Touch exclusively. “Now that her name is out there, and she’s been linked to an A-lister like Ben, she is using this attention to her advantage. She is stepping out in Hollywood, going to hot spots and getting photographed.”

The 47-year-old met the blonde beauty on the dating app Raya, In Touch confirmed, but “it’s nothing serious at this time,” a second insider revealed. But Ben’s ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, is nervous about Katie’s intentions. “This is exactly what Jen fears — that Ben will hook up with women who are looking to boost their profile and can potentially share information about him and sell him out,” the source explained.

It’s been quite a crazy few weeks for the Good Will Hunting alum after he appeared intoxicated at a Halloween party and casino on October 26. While he was at the Commerce Casino in California, an eyewitness exclusively told In Touch about Ben’s wild night out. “I watched him lose $60,000 in 40 minutes,” they explained. “Everyone was staring at him; they couldn’t believe it. He refused to fold, so people were just taking his money!” Additionally, the California native — who shares Violet, 13, Seraphina, 10, and Samuel, 7, with his ex-wife — was seen out with Katie. “She was acting like his babysitter, holding all his cash!” the insider noted.

The following day, Ben admitted he made some mistakes while partying at the UNICEF Masquerade Ball. After the duo left the bash, Ben appeared to be drunk and couldn’t stand up straight before he got into a car. “Well, you know, it happens. It’s a slip, but I’m not going to let it derail me,” he told photographers outside of Jen’s home.

Despite being honest about drinking, the 47-year-old 13 Going on 30 starlet was not thrilled with her ex. “Jen is furious with Ben,” another source told In Touch. “She knows what she’s dealing with here. She hates that Ben did it in public too, mainly because of their children, who are at ages where they hear things in school from other kids. Her main goal is to protect her kids.”

Now, Ben’s pals are concerned for his well-being. “Ben’s buddies told him point-blank to stop drinking and gambling, and to dump Katie,” another insider spilled to In Touch. “And if he knows what’s good for him, Ben will take his friends’ advice.”
