According to Ross’ Instagram, he was out with fellow Below Deck star João Franco and another pal. Both João and Ross shared video clips on their Instagram Stories from their night out, which seemed to include drinking at a local restaurant.

Hours after those initial Instagram Story posts, João reportedly updated his followers again. According to a screengrab obtained by The Cheat Sheet, João captioned a selfie of him and his pal: “Ross is in jail…And we’ve been looking for him [four] hours and counting.”

João then updated fans in a video posted on his Instagram story, where he allegedly explained what ultimately led to Ross’ arrest. “Ross grabbed me as a mate, the police grabbed us and handcuffed us. Ross ‘resisted’ arrest,” João said, according to The Cheat Sheet.

Ross stars on the current season of the hit Bravo reality TV series, and according to his cast bio, the Native New Zealand Māori is the father to a son and currently lives in Florida. Out of all of the cast mates, it seems like Ross and João are very close friends.

“Mad respect for how genuine this fella is… the Below Deck cast all have one thing in common and it brings us closer, no matter where we come from or where we’re going,” João wrote in a sweet Instagram tribute to Ross earlier this month. “It’s a roller coaster ride for us all, in one way or another, and you can choose let it get to you or you can choose to roll with it. [Ross] let the good times roll buddy, the biggest challenge is to stay humble! And humble you are.”
