Yikes!‘The Challenge’ Star Nelson Thomas Arrested, Charged With Theft

Believe it or not, this ain’t the first time. MTV’s The Challenge and Ex On The Beach star Nelson Thomas has gotten himself into some serious hot water after recently being arrested and booked on a theft charge at Hayes County Jail in Austin, TX.

On Thursday, Dec. 20, Nelson was charged with committing a Class B theft, according to Hays County Jail records obtained by In Touch. According to the Texas Constitution and Statutes, it looks like a Class B theft is classified as such if the value of the property stolen is $100 or more but less than $750, the value of the property stolen is less than $100 and the defendant has previously been convicted of any grade of theft, or the property stolen is a driver’s license, commercial driver’s license, or personal identification certificate issued by this state or another state.

This isn’t the first time the MTV reality pro, who has been featured on five seasons of The Challenge, has been arrested. According to records obtained by In Touch, he has multiple previous arrests for driving with a suspended or invalid license and expired registration, as well as another previous Class B theft in 2014.

On June 28, 2018, Nelson was sentenced to 12 months of probation, after pleading ‘nolo contendre’ (essentially ‘no contest’) to his 2016 invalid license charge. According to The Ashley Reality Roundup, a judge sentenced Nelson to eight days in county jail (with credit for one day served) on Oct 4. His confinement should have started on that date, but it seems unlikely that Nelson served the sentence at that time — he was in Los Angeles filming the current season of Ex on the Beach.

It is even possible that there may have been a warrant out for his arrest for the alleged eight days unserved, though it has not been confirmed.

Though we don’t know how this current arrest will turn out for Nelson, we do know you’ll be able to catch him appearing on this season of MTV’s Ex On The Beach, along with other famed reality stars like Teen Mom star Farrah Abraham and Bachelorette villan Chad Johnson.
