After hearing the news that Alaskan Bush People star Bear Brown has a new girlfriend, the show’s viewers wanted to learn more about model Raiven Adams. It was their digging, though, that lead to her coming out publicly and revealing that she is “pansexual and proud.” After some fans started looking into her past and discovered that she’d previously dated a woman, the new Discovery Channel star decided to confront the rumors herself. On Tuesday, August 6, she shared a personal post on Instagram where she talked about her sexuality.

“The moment I’ve been dreading … It’s been brought to my attention, the social media stalkers of my new found life, have found my ex who was a female,” Raiven, 21, wrote on the social media site. “I have fought for my peace of mind in my sexuality and in my life. I’m proud of myself for loving myself, in every aspect of life. Come for me about my overalls, Come for me about my teeth, my height, whatever you want, but I ask you please let my sexuality be.” While asking her fans to leave her ex alone, she added, “We haven’t been together for almost [three] years. I am with Bear! I am happy and he is what I want every day of my life. My past is my past. Judge me for whatever you want, but don’t do it like this.”

The moment I’ve been dreading…. It’s been brought to my attention, the social media stalkers of my new found life. Have found my ex who was a female, I have fought for my peace of mind in my sexuality, and in my life. I’m proud of myself for loving myself, in every aspect of life. Come for me about my overalls, Come for me about my teeth, my height whatever you want. but I ask you please let my sexuality be… let my ex be don’t stir a pot that doesn’t belong to you. Let her be she doesn’t deserve the drama. We split due to being together at a young age, and not being ready for a relationship. Not being right for one another, we haven’t been together for almost 3 years. I am with Bear! I am happy and he is what I want every day of my life. My past is my past judge me for whatever you want , But don’t do it like this. In the words of @bellathorne “Somebody explained to me really thoroughly what that is. You like beings. You like what you like. Doesn’t have to be a girl or a guy or a he or she or they or this or that. It’s literally you like personality. You just like a being.” #loveislove#equality#standtall#pansexualandproud

Raiven went on to quote her fellow pansexual star, actress Bella Thorne, to explain how she feels. “In the words of [Bella], ‘Somebody explained to me really thoroughly what that is. You like beings. You like what you like. Doesn’t have to be a girl or a guy or a he or she or they or this or that. It’s literally you like personality. You just like a being.'” In the hashtags, she added some final notes: “#loveislove #equality #standtall #pansexualandproud.”

Later the same day, the star continued to assure fans that she’s not ashamed of her past. “[I’m] loving myself, loving my views, and accepting I’ll never be perfect. I’ll always have flaws, but loving someone isn’t one of them,” she told fans. Though it seems like none of the Browns have shared any words of support just yet, we wouldn’t be surprised to see Rain Brown standing by her big brother’s girl.

In the past, Rain has shot down rumors that she’s gay but made sure to show her support for the LGBTQ community. “I’m straight,” she told her followers in 2017. “I call my fans rainbows because my name is Rain, but you do you, boo.” A few weeks before that, she also wrote, “Equality is SO important. No one [is] better, no matter their sexuality, skin color or gender. We are all people. … If [you’re] different, good!”
