Motherhood hasn’t been easy so far for new mom, Audrey Roloff. The Little People, Big World star — who welcomed Ember Jean with husband Jeremy Roloff on Sept. 10 — revealed that suffered from mastitis, a common illness that affects women who choose to breastfeed their babies.

In addition, the reality star mama opened up to fans about the “pain and suffering” she’s felt since giving birth. In a lengthy Instagram post on Sept. 24, she wrote, “While I am overflowing with love for my daughter and husband, I won’t sugar coat it… these past two weeks have been HARD. The first 24 hours with Ember were bliss, but after that it was as if I went back into labor again…” She continued, “I was well prepared for the pain and suffering that comes with childbirth, but I was not prepared for the pain and suffering that comes afterwards. I got all the things… the common ‘TMI’ postpartum hurts, along with severe engorgement, too much milk, not enough milk, blisters, bruises, clogged ducts, and mastitis. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but the pain that I’ve experienced while breast feeding has been comparable to unmedicated labor contractions.”

We’re showing Ember around the farm. I don’t think she’s paying attention though…

Luckily, Auj now looks happy and healthy — as documented on Jeremy’s recent Facebook post. He joked in the caption, “We’re showing Ember around the farm. I don’t think she’s paying attention though.” People quickly commented about her appearance. One person wrote, “Happy to see mama must be doing better.” Another added, “So nice for the whole family you live close by. Glad Audrey is feeling better and out and about.”

Jeremy’s post came just a week after Audrey updated fans on Ember. The new mom — who welcomed her daughter on Sept. 10 — said that she thinks her baby is already taking after dad Jeremy in the looks department. “We think she looks like Jeremy so far, but she might have a little glimmer of strawberry in that peach fuzz hair. Only time will tell!” the curly-haired redhead wrote on her personal blog. “We are still hoping for boing boing curls though.” So sweet!
