Ariana Grande Pokes Fun at Herself Following Pete Davidson Split: ‘Me Marrying My Imaginary Soulmate’

Do we hear wedding bells? Not for Ariana Grande! At least … not yet. The newly single star took a moment to poke fun at herself on Instagram Stories following her split from Pete Davidson.

“One day I’ll wall [sic] down the isle [sic],” she captioned a meme on Tuesday, March 26, before adding, “Me marrying my imaginary soulmate.” Aww. One day, Ari!

On Thursday, March 21, the pop princess, 25, uploaded a different Insta Story titled “Letting Someone Go,” which seemingly referred to her ex-fiancé, also 25, — five months after she ended their engagement.

“Sometimes, the reason for letting someone go is because they can’t help but hurt you during this phase of their life,” the note read. “When you love someone deeply, you learn what demons live within them and you realize that they are hurting you because they are hurting somewhere within themselves. They are fighting a battle within and may not even know it, so they take it out on you and fight you.”

The quote continued: “Decide to let them go, but not because you’re being petty and resentful. You let them go because you really believe that the both of you can find the healing you truly need without being together and hurting each other in the process. Letting someone go doesn’t mean you stop loving and caring about anyone. Letting go means you’re choosing freedom over the illusion of loyalty.”
