Gone but not forgotten. Ariana Grande posted a sweet tribute to her late ex Mac Miller celebrating the sixth anniversary of their hit song ‘The Way.’ “Six years,” she wrote on her Instagram Stories on Monday, March 25, with a white heart at the bottom of the message.

The “7 Rings” crooner, 25, released the song with the rapper on March 25, 2013, and it reached No. 9 on the Billboard Hot 100. The duo also worked together on Mac’s song called “My Favorite Part” from his album The Divine Feminine, which was released in 2016.

The Florida native and Mac dated for two years before they went their separate ways in May 2018. Later that month, the Grammy winner quickly moved on with Pete Davidson and he proposed in June. Unfortunately, the “Come Back to Earth” singer, 26, tragically passed away on September 7 from a drug overdose, and Ari and Pete called off their engagement in October.

Since then, the Victorious alum has mentioned him several times on social media. One week after his death, she wrote a touching note about him. “I adored you from the day I met you when I was 19, and I always will,” she said. “I can’t believe you aren’t here anymore. I really can’t wrap my head around it. We talked about this. So many times. I’m so mad, I’m so sad, I don’t know what to do. You were my dearest friend. For so long. Above anything else. I’m so sorry I couldn’t fix or take your pain away. I really wanted to. The kindest, sweetest soul with demons he never deserved. I hope you’re OK now. Rest.”

Ari recently kicked off her Sweetener tour on March 18 in Albany, New York, and she couldn’t help but play some of Mac’s music before she performed. “Mhmm my mind is all over the place and v emotional,” she wrote on Twitter on March 19 thanking her fans for the support. “Thank u. I don’t know what I’m posting rn TBH. At all. I’ll hit u tomorrow bc … tonight was too much. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I love you. And I yeah. I love this song @pharrell. I love you @alfredoflores.”

We’re so f—king grateful that Ari is keeping Mac’s memory alive.
