Is baby No. 2 in the cards for Married at First Sight season 6 stars Shawniece Jackson and Jephte Pierre? The couple are already parents to daughter Laura, but they’re not sweating giving her a little brother or sister just yet. While speaking exclusively with In Touch ahead of their new show, Married At First Sight: Couples’ Cam, they “hoping the next one arrives around January 2025.”

“But seriously, we’re in no rush,” the couple shared. “We’re enjoying Laura and growing as a couple.” Becoming parents has already changed their relationship for the better. The Lifetime stars gush welcoming their daughter “brought [them] closer by truly making [them] partners.”

Laura was born in August 2018, just one year after the couple first met as they tied the knot at the altar. The news they were expecting came as a surprise to the parents, but they rolled with the punches and ended up with the sweetest little girl. But learning how to be a mom and a dad while they were still getting used to being husband and wife was no easy feat.

“We had Laura really early, even before we really had our footing, and having a kid just does something to you,” they share. “When she gives us both hugs at the same time, you can’t help but wish you [could] pause that moment.” And the toddler is growing up fast! “Our daughter is so smart,” they gushed. “She’s at a spot where she’s starting to put some words together. We love watching her grow.”

They are hoping to get some time alone as a couple soon, however. With the wedding anniversary not far around the corner in August, they’re crossing their fingers they’ll be able to snag some time away without the baby. “We definitely need to plan some vacation time,” they tell In Touch. “Maybe a place that has big, multiple rooms and plenty of space and sunshine.”

But while they’re stuck at home amid the coronavirus pandemic, they’re doing their best to keep busy. “Shawniece is working on her wigs and boutique and creating content and ideas for that,” Jephte says. “The quarantine has slowed some of it down, but there are still things we’re doing at home.” He’s also considering a new career path himself. “I’m stepping away from teaching and thinking of other fields to step into,” he explains. “[It’s] scary and exciting at the same time!”

They’ve also added filming to the daily schedule. Though they’re not “the type of people to stop what we’re doing to film something,” they’re doing their best to share their lives with fans. “Trying to find the right lighting, angles and interesting approaches to capturing the story is definitely an art,” the couple share. “We tried to be those artists, but it’s a tough job!”

Married At First Sight: Couples’ Cam premieres on Lifetime May 20th at 8 p.m. ET.
