Every season on Lifetime's Married at First Sight, there is always a couple that seems to struggle a little more than the others, and on Season 6, that couple is Jephte Pierre and Shawniece Jackson. It seems like the core of their issues lie in intimacy. Jephte has had somewhat of a hard time allowing himself to get close to his new wife, both physically and emotionally, and fans are wondering if Jephte and Shawniece are still married now that the experiment is over. WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD!

Even though it seemed like they had a great time at their wedding — aka the day they met each other for the very first time — it looked like things went downhill very quickly. The newlyweds got into an explosive fight with each other while going over questions that were given to them by the show's experts. The exercise was meant to create a feeling of closeness for the couple, but Shawniece got upset when Jephte said he considered her more of a friend than a spouse. Jephte felt that Shawniece was pressuring him to move faster than he felt comfortable with and when she attempted to give him a high five, he told her, "Don't touch me."

That same tension followed the newlyweds back home. Jephte reluctantly allowed Shawniece to move into his apartment with him while they search for an apartment of their own, but he made it clear that's where he drew the line. He chose to sleep on the floor in a different room than Shawniece and that gesture was enough to bring Shawniece to her breaking point.

"You just close me out instead of allowing me to be in," Shawniece said, breaking down in tears. "And I'm tired of feeling like, that I'm not wanted, that's the worst feeling in the world."

Shawniece reminded her husband that they're both in this together and she needed his help in order to make their marriage work — and judging from social media, it looks like they were able to work things out! Last month, Shawniece shared a sweet message to her hubby on their first National Spouses Day together.

"Before I go to bed for the first time in life I have a spouse on #NationalSpousesDay," she wrote. "We put ourselves out there and hearts on the line to be #MarriedAtFirstSight for the world to see."
