Anna Duggar Returns to Twitter — Instantly Remembers Why She Left in the First Place
After a short hiatus, Anna Duggar returned to Twitter and was instantly met with serious backlash. The wife of disgraced reality star Josh Duggar shared a Christmas message with her followers — and they did not hold back against the mother-of-five.
“Merry CHRISTmas!” she wrote, making sure to emphasize Jesus Christ’s name in the holiday. However, many thought Anna was being hypocritical, given Josh’s known history of sexual abuse and infidelity. “If your going to make such a show of emphasizing the first letters of the word Christmas here’s some other emphasizing you might want to consider. MOLESTor, ADULTery, INFEDELity, and maybe DELUSional,” one follower responded before another added, “How can you all proclaim to be followers of Christ yet turn a blind eye to Josh’s horrific child molestation?” Yikes.

As viewers of 19 Kids and Counting know, In Touch was the first to report that Josh, 29, sexually abused minors in his teens, including his sisters Jill and Jessa Duggar. At the time, he released an apology, writing on Facebook, “Twelve years ago, as a young teenager, I acted inexcusably for which I am extremely sorry and deeply regret. I hurt others, including my family and close friends.”
A few months later, Josh was also found to be an active user of the cheating website Ashley Madison and admitted to being unfaithful to his wife. “I have been the biggest hypocrite ever. While espousing faith and family values, I have secretly over the last several years been viewing pornography on the Internet and this has become a secret addiction and I became unfaithful to my wife,” he stated on the family’s website. Shortly after, Josh checked into a faith-based rehab facility.
However, despite his transgressions, Anna, 29, has remained by his side — partially blaming herself for his behavior. “Anna will not leave him. As with her in-laws, she is turning more to her faith than ever,” a source told People. “She is fully and permanently committed to her marriage and children. She will have the support of Jim Bob and Michelle [Duggar] and everyone else in their circle in terms of staying with him and making this work. Divorce is not even something that will be discussed.” The couple recently welcomed their fifth child, Mason, in September.
