Angelina Jolie Stuns in a Sexy, Sheer Black Dress at Disney’s D23 Expo — See Photos!

Angelina has a slew of new films coming up over the next couple of years, starting with the October 18 release of Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, the sequel to 2014’s Maleficent. During the D23 Expo Walt Disney Studios Presentation, Angie opened up about how it felt to reprise her role as the Disney villain.

“I missed her and I loved playing her. In the first film we brought two people … two creatures who were very different, and historic enemies in many ways together and said just because they are very very different, they are family and they have love for each other,” she said.

She continued to tease what fans can expect from the sequel. “And now, in this one, we return and we see they’ve — now Aurora is older and they’re facing the world and challenges of the world. It’s being emphasized to them how different they are. And they are encouraged to not be a family… and they are pulled apart by their differences. And so we really pose the question and fight for the belief that what makes you different makes you stronger,” Angelina said. “And what is family and what defines family is what you believe in, and how you love and what you stand for – it’s not just blood and it’s not just because you’re the same. So I love this movie very much.”

On the red carpet, Angelina opened up about her family and she recalled the moment her five other children — 15-year-old Pax, 14-year-old Zahara, 13-year-old Shiloh and 11-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne — said goodbye her 18-year-old son, Maddox, before he headed off to college in South Korea where he will study biochemistry at Yonsei University.

“What was very beautiful is the way everybody said goodbye. When it was time to take him to the airport — some jumped into the car to take him — and everybody was, it was very …,” Angelina told Entertainment Tonight. “When you know that your kids love each other and you see the way they all — without any kind of prompting or pushing — give each other notes, hug each other, take each other, support each other, then you feel like they’re going to be okay and they’re always going to have each other.”

But her kiddos weren’t the only ones who got emotional saying goodbye to Maddox.

“Oh my god, and embarrass your children ugly cry!” Angelina told ET, describing how she cried when it was finally time to leave him at his school. “I also, just at some point, had the big [sun]glasses and the amount of times I turned and waved. I do know it was the one moment in my life I think I turned around six times before the airport just … and he sweetly stayed and kept waving, knowing that I was going to keep turning around. You could feel he knew he couldn’t leave.”

The mom of six has not had the easiest past few years as she’s had to adjust as a single mom and coparenting her kids with her ex, Brad Pitt, amid their divorce. But Angelina drew a similarity between her and her character, Maleficent.

“I’m like everybody and … especially these last few years haven’t been the easiest, and I haven’t felt very strong,” she told E! News. “There’s something when you’re not feeling very strong, where you push yourself. And I’m so grateful that I have the opportunity to play these kind of characters, that pull out every bit of strength I have and that remind me that I can be strong.”
