’90 Day Fiancé’ Couple Sean and Abby Are Mourning the Death of Sean’s Father
So sad. Couple Sean Hiler and his fiancée Abby St. Germain were introduced to fans on the 90 Day Fiancé spin-off, 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, and even though cameras aren’t rolling, it’s fairly easy to keep up with the couple — who is still engaged and are still together — on social media. Even though maintaining a long distance relationship is difficult enough, now Sean and Abby are facing one of their very first hardships as a couple together — getting over the death of Sean’s father.
Abby took to Instagram on Sunday, Jan. 14 to announce the sad news of Sean’s dad’s death. “My baby is in pain now. He lost his father this morning at 11:30,” she wrote in a text post and she added in the caption, “Rest in peace to Sean’s father.”

Fans flooded the comments section, giving the couple their condolences. “Sending love and prayers to Sean and his family! And you of course!” one fan wrote, and another commented, “Condolences to you both at this difficult time. Love [and] support each other through this difficult time.”
Abby and Sean’s love story was documented during Season 1 of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, where Sean traveled to Abby’s native country of Haiti in order to get to know her and hopefully propose to her. They almost did not get engaged after Sean learned about Abby’s close relationship with her ex-boyfriend Chris, but he eventually got down on one knee and Abby said yes.
But unlike their fellow 90 Day Fiancé stars, the goal is not for Abby to obtain a K-1 visa in order to enter the United States and Abby revealed their plans on Instagram last month.
“For the last time, I’m NOT coming to America to live,” she wrote. “I have no interest in living in America. I’m staying in the Caribbean to study. Sean is moving down here! I’m NOT doing the K-1 Visa.”
