Family drama. 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? stars Elizabeth Potthast and Andrei Castravet announced their plans to have a second wedding ceremony in Andrei’s native country of Moldova during the season 5 premiere of TLC’s spinoff. But the tension hit a peak Andrei, 34, insisted Elizabeth’s father, Chuck Potthast, pay for their nuptials.

“My relationship with Elizabeth’s family is nonexistent. I don’t talk to them. I’m mostly seeing them at some family gatherings,” Andrei said during the Sunday, June 14 episode. “They can laugh in your face, but the second day, if you ask them to do something, they will just turn you own and say no to you. That’s like my biggest issue. Being a double-faced.”

Elizabeth explained the couple’s financial situation had not “really improved” since their stint on Happily Ever After? season 4. Andrei was still unemployed, but the Tampa, Florida native said they were “making it work” with her as the family’s breadwinner. “It definitely helps with Andrei being a stay-at-home dad. We save on childcare and Eleanor really likes to spend time with her dad,” she said.

But the couple clashed over the topic of their second wedding ceremony in Moldova. They tied the knot in Florida during 90 Day Fiancé season 5, but it was important for Andrei to get married again in Moldova because they will not be able to baptize their 17-month-old daughter, Eleanor, if they do not have a wedding ceremony in the Moldovan church. “We had started to plan our second wedding in Moldova, but I had no idea that he wanted to do it so soon,” Elizabeth said. “We have to do it soon,” Andrei urged.

Andrei announced their Moldovan wedding would be taking place in one month, which upset both his wife and her family. “I’m actually really angry. It’s very frustrating to me because it seems like I don’t have a say in my own damn wedding,” she said.

Things came to a head when Andrei said he expected Elizabeth’s dad, Chuck, to pay for their second ceremony which caused a fight between the couple.

“My dad already cut us off and you want my dad to pay for the wedding?” Elizabeth asked her husband. “He is obligated to do this. He did it for your sisters, and everybody got the wedding of their dreams. You need to get the wedding of your dreams too,” Andrei responded. They continued to bicker over who would ask Chuck for money for their wedding. Andrei told Elizabeth she would be the one to ask, and she refused.

“Chuck didn’t pay for my first wedding. I paid for my first wedding because I had savings from when I was working in Ireland. And I would pay for my daughter’s wedding. And I think Chuck should pay for Elizabeth’s too,” Andrei said. “This is such foolishness to say that it’s not her father’s job to pay. Well, whose job is it then?”
