The newest member of the Kardashian family is on its way! Kim Kardashian confirmed she and rapper husband, Kanye West, are expecting a baby girl via surrogate — and during a Thursday, Nov. 16, appearance on The Real, Kim explained why her surrogate was not invited to her recent cherry blossom-themed baby shower.
“I introduced her to my family earlier that day, and I just thought…I don’t know, it was a weird decision to have to make,” she said. “Of course I would have wanted her to be there, and be a part of it, but I hadn’t really gone that far in explaining it to my kids yet.”
“So I have to figure that out first before they really see, and then if we’re celebrating, you know, her…I just wanted to celebrate the baby. I think I have to explain it to my kids first, and figure out how I’m going to explain it to them,” she continued, adding, “I love her. I have the best relationship with my surrogate. She’s so nice. She’s the perfect person to do this for my family.”
Kim, 37, has tried to keep any information about baby No. 3 and her surrogate private, but she finally made the announcement in a trailer for the current season of Keeping Up With the Kardashians — check it out below!

Kim, who has only recently began to talk about the surrogacy process, recently opened up about how it has been harder than her first two pregnancies — even though she admitted that she "hated" being pregnant with her kids. “Anyone that says or thinks it is just the easy way out is just completely wrong,” she told Entertainment Tonight on Nov. 14. "I think it is so much harder to go through it this way, because you are not really in control. And, you know, obviously you pick someone that you completely trust and that you have a good bond and relationship with, but it is still . . . knowing that I was able to carry my first two babies and not, you know, my baby now, it’s hard for me. It’s definitely a harder experience than I anticipated just in the control area.”
Back in May, Kris Jenner offered to be the surrogate for her daughter, who suffers from a potentially life-threatening condition called placenta accreta, which forced the reality star to find an alternative to becoming pregnant again herself. Despite the kind gesture, the couple declined the 61-year-old momager's offer. Now, there's a new conspiracy theory that Kim's little sister, Kylie Jenner is actually their surrogate ever since news broke last week that the 20-year-old is pregnant. But, since that's just a rumor, here's everything we know about the woman hired to carry North's future little sis.
Us Weekly reports that the woman — whose identity has yet to be revealed — lives in San Diego, just a few hours south of Kim and Kanye's home in Los Angeles.
According to TMZ, the woman that the couple chose to carry their child is African-American and already has two small boys with her husband of five years.

The woman — who is in her late 20s and was referred to Kim and Kanye by an agency — has served as a surrogate before. She has reportedly even appeared in a promotional video about the process with her own family.
TMZ also reports that the surrogate is a college grad, is in great physical shape, and — fun fact! — she’s a registered Democrat.
Kim and Kanye, who are already parents to North, 4, and Saint, 19 months, reportedly agreed to fork over $45,000 in ten $4,500 monthly installments, and if there are multiples, the megastars will give the surrogate $5,000 per child, TMZ previously reported. The long list of requests from the strict parents includes: refraining from smoking, drinking, and drugs during the pregnancy as well as foregoing the use of a hot tubs or saunas. The surrogate also agreed to stay away from changing cat litter, applying hair dye, drinking more than one caffeinated beverage per day, and eating raw fish. Check out everything Kim has said about her journey to surrogacy in the video below!
On Tuesday, Oct. 24, Kim and Kanye's surrogate was spotted out in California and she was sported a rather large baby bump, according to Hollywood Life, which only added fuel to the rumors that she might be pregnant with twins. The speculation started on Monday, Oct. 23 after Kim tweeted, “Anyone know who makes the best double stroller? Not a tiny compact one but regular size.”

“Kim’s surrogate is due before Christmas,” an insider told Us Weekly. What a great holiday surprise! This is sooner than expected, with reports originally saying the baby was coming in January.
Kim accidentally revealed the gender of baby No. 3 while discussing her baby shower during an appearance on the Wednesday, Nov. 15 episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show. "We had a baby shower over the weekend. I thought, 'I really do want to have a baby shower because I want her to feel that something's coming and for her to really understand it,'" Kim told show host Ellen DeGeneres. "People brought toys and gifts. She was opening them all up the next day and she said, 'Mom, Baby Sister's not here. I think I need all of her toys in my room. I'll play with them and just make sure they're OK for Baby Sister.'"
