Singer Simone Battle, who rose to fame when she appeared on The X Factor back in 2011 and later as part of the girl group G.R.L., was found dead in her LA home Friday morning.
According to TMZ, she died of an apparent suicide, with law enforcement sources telling the site she was "found hanging on a rod in the closet of her bedroom."
Simone appeared on the first season of X Factor, being mentored by Simon Cowell and making it into the Top 17.
After the show, Simone, who auditioned with the song "When I Grow Up" by The Pussycat Dolls, became a member of the group G.R.L., which was a reboot of The Pussycat Dolls.
An autopsy has yet to be performed to confirm the cause of death.
