Fellow actors pay
tribute to Heath
Heath Ledger's Hollywood peers paid public tribute to the recently deceased actor. Daniel Day-Lewis, who won for outstanding male actor in a leading role (for There Will Be Blood) at last night's SAG Awards, dedicated his win to Heath. Daniel called Heath an inspiration and "unique" in his moving speech. "Of course, in Brokeback Mountain, he was unique," said Daniel while at the podium. "He was perfect. And that scene in the trailer at the end of the film is as moving as anything I have ever seen." Backstage, the actor said, "I thought he was beautiful... I admired him very much. I'm absolutely certain he would have done many wonderful things in his life." Fellow Aussie Cate Blanchett spoke about Heath while she accepted her Modern Master Award at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival. "I'd like to pay special tribute to Heath Ledger, who I think was an extraordinary actor and was well on his way to being a master himself," said Cate. "We will all miss you enormously."
