From breakup to makeup, things are definitely on the mend for NeNe Leakes and Kim Zolciak.
As In Touch reported last week, the former Real Housewives of Atlanta frenemies are giving their friendship another go— and now, Kim exclusively tells In Touch that her relationship with NeNe has only gotten stronger since the reunion taping (which will air in three parts on Bravo, starting April 7).
“I think the reunion was kind of a turning point,” Kim tells the mag. “Also me leaving the show. It's like being married, right? You kind of start to take your partner for granted after twenty years. I think that was how NeNe and I kind of were.”
EXCLUSIVE: NeNe: "I'm Inviting Kim to My Wedding"
The women, who went from friends to foes during season one of the hit show, were notorious for hurling insults at each other until NeNe recently decided to call a truce and “extend an olive branch” to her former bestie, which Kim graciously accepted.
Now that Kim has decided to call it quits as a Housewife and, instead, will return to Bravo for season two of her own spinoff, Don’t Be Tardy, she’s realizing the core of their feud all boiled down to communication… or lack thereof.
EXCLUSIVE: Kim Responds to NeNe's Wedding Invite
“We didn't really spend the time to communicate during the show,” she tells In Touch. “Finally we realized there is really a lot of ‘he said-she said’ stuff.”
At Bravo’s Upfronts in New York on April 3, Kim was seen anxiously asking others if NeNe had arrived. Admitting that their relationship is even “better off camera than it is on,” Kim is just thankful to have her best girlfriend back. “We're in a really good place,” she says.
