A close friend of XXXTentacion claimed the 20-year-old rapper had recently beefed up his security since he feared leaving the house alone. Producer Zxflo, 27, broke his silence one day after XXX was tragically gunned down in South Florida on June 18. Zxflo revealed that he thinks XXX (real name was Jahseh Onfroy) could have been deliberately targeted and murdered on that fateful day.

"I don't believe it was a robbery at all," Zxflo told the Daily Mail in a new interview. "Through the years, he's gained some enemies and it's hard to speak right now, but he didn't travel alone, he was a very smart individual. He did not travel alone, he never traveled alone — he knew that he has enemies, obviously. He would not go places alone."

XXX was fatally shot by masked gunmen while shopping for motorcycles and even though he was rushed to the hospital, they couldn't save him. The case is still being investigated as eyewitnesses claimed that a Louis Vuitton bag was stolen from his black BMW sports car as the hip-hop artist laid there lifeless. "I know there were people who were very jealous and envious of him. He came from an area where not a lot of people make it out," Zxflo added.

"A few years ago, he was pretty violent, I'm not going to lie," Zxflo said. "He was raised by his grandmother, never had a really a home to go to." XXX had several run-ins with the law over his regular substance abuse and aggressive behavior towards his ex-girlfriend Geneva Ayala. Despite his checkered past, Zxflo said that XXX was trying to make better life choices and would have continued to reach new heights in his career if he wasn't killed, even comparing his talent to "genius" Kanye West. Lucky for fans, XXX has "a lot of work that's in the vaults so they will continue to hear his music for some time to come."
