Uhh, This Woman Says She’s Engaged To A Ghost And We Have Questions
No swiping left or right for this couple. A woman in the United Kingdom claims that she is engaged to a ghost, and she’s completely serious about them getting married. And honestly, we have so many questions.
Amethyst Realm, 30, told ITV that she has had 20 paranormal lovers in her life — she is described as a medium in the video above, after all — but she believes she met the one on a business trip to Australia earlier this year.
They apparently hit it off, despite one half of the couple being a spirit, and Realm was sad when she had to leave Australia because she thought that would be the end of it. “Spirits tend to be quite static, and so I thought I had to leave it behind,” she said on ITV. “And then, whilst I was on the plane, I suddenly realized it had surprised me and come with me.”
The relationship Realm claims to be having is clearly working out, because she’s been dating her ghost lover for several months and now she wants to get married and potentially even have a child with him. “We’re soulmates, meant for each other, and that’ll never change. The fact that he’s a spirit is by the by,” she told The Sun.
You may be wondering how Realm expects to marry and have a baby with a ghost — we certainly are. But she explained on This Morning on ITV that she hopes to have a handfasting ceremony — a ceremony based in ancient Celtic tradition and used in Wiccan or Pagan ceremonies today — and told The Sun that she wants a baby with her paranormal fiancé. “I looked into it and I don’t think it’s totally out of the question,” she said.
Realm further explained on ITV that she’s been looking into phantom pregnancies, and believes they’re actually real, but often the people who are pregnant with these phantom babies don’t understand what’s happening and therefore don’t manage to carry to full term. But because she will know what’s going on with her body, Realm thinks she might be able to produce a baby with her spirit spouse, though she doesn’t know if it will be in human or spirit form.
The rest of us may be unsure of how all this would work, but Realm seems totally earnest in her belief that she has a ghostly lover and that they can get married and start a family together. And she wouldn’t be the first person to claim to have an emotional or sexual relationship with a spirit.
Kesha, for instance, once claimed she’d had sex with a ghost in the past, and her song “Supernatural” is actually about that intimate experience. She told Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS FM radio show, “I had a couple of experiences with the supernatural. I don’t know his name! He was a ghost! I’m very open to it.”
I guess if Kesha can do it, why not a medium from the U.K.?
