Nothing to see here! Lil Nas X dropped his new music video, “Rodeo,” but one person was noticeably missing — Cardi B, who is featured in the song. However, the 20-year-old cleared the air as to why the rapper, 27, was MIA. “I didn’t ‘kick’ Cardi off ‘Rodeo.’ She couldn’t do the video. We cool, though,” the “Old Town Road” singer wrote via Twitter on Thursday, February 6.

But fans didn’t seem to mind that the brunette beauty didn’t make an appearance. One person wrote, “It’s better without her, anyways,” while another echoed, “We don’t want her, though.” A third person chimed in, writing, “Good thing you didn’t have her in it.”

Cardi appeared on the original track, and then Nas collaborated with Lil Nas X at the Grammy Awards for the remix. Prior to the release of the video, fans weren’t sure if Cardi would be featured in the clip in the first place.

On February 4, the Georgia native posted a photo of himself on set wearing colored contact lenses and elf ears. “RODEO MUSIC VIDEO THIS WEEK!” he captioned the snap with a vampire emoji. But fans had mixed reactions about the costume. “Ay bro, you scaring me,” one person wrote. A second person added, “What the hell?”

At the moment, Cardi — who shares daughter Kulture,18 months, with her husband, Offset — hasn’t responded to the feud rumors yet. At the end of the day, it seems like these two musical artists genuinely have love for one another.

In July 2019, Cardi brought Lil Nas X out on stage to sing “Old Town Road” during her set at the Wireless Festival in London, and fans went wild. “I want to thank @LilNasX for coming out tonight at Wireless!” she wrote on Twitter. “It was lit — keep doing your thing. The stars is [sic] the limit. Stream ‘Rodeo’ for a date with Lil Nas.”

Meanwhile, Lil Nas X is clearly living his best life these days as he was nominated for six Grammys — including one for the viral sensation song “Old Town Road” featuring Billy Ray Cyrus. “The most rewarding part is to still have people rooting for me. I couldn’t be happier about that,” he told Billboard on January 26. “I feel like I am the youth and the hip-hop, and [Billy Ray] brings the country and the older generations. Everybody in the world loves it.”

Maybe Cardi will surprise us on a duet with Lil Nas X in the future?
